Meet Al Schmitt
Principal Engineer (PE) and company founder
Albert M. Schmitt is originally from Spring Grove and is an alumnus of Southern Illinois University graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984. His civil engineering career started at Smith Engineering Consultants, Inc. in McHenry, IL where he worked for six years and was in charge of subdivision design and development. Al is licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Thomas Mroz
Principal Engineer (PE)
Thomas joined Schmitt Engineering full time in 2019 after graduating from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a BSE in civil engineering. He has five plus years of experience in septic designs and residential and commercial site plan design. Thomas lives in Crystal Lake and is currently licensed in Illinois.
Andrew Trocki
Senior Design Engineer
Andrew came to Schmitt Engineering in 2021 after starting his civil engineering career at Fehr Graham. He graduated from Bradley University in 2018 with a BS in civil engineering and currently lives in Woodstock.
Rhiannon Bryk
Design Engineer
Rhiannon hails from Kent, Ohio and joined Schmitt in 2025. She graduated from Smith College in Northamption, MA with a BS in Engineering. She is a licensed Engineer in Training (EIT) and currently resides in Woodstock.
